“The spaceships of Ezekiel”(1974) is a book by Josef F. Blumrich written while he was at the head of the layout department of the NASA systems at the Marshall Space Flight Center in the United States.

The book was originally published in German with the title“Da tat sich der Himmel auf”(“Then the sky opened”) in March 1973.
After authors such as Erich von Däniken indicated the possibility of interpreting some ancient texts – like the biblical book of Ezekiel – as the description of an extraterrestrial spacecraft, Blumrich decided to analyze the text with the intention to refute this hypothesis. To his great surprise, after a thorough examination of the biblical text on six different versions of the Bible he became convinced that Ezekiel had indeed seen a UFO.
Blumrich states that the story of Ezekiel in the Bible is not about any mystical experience, but is instead the chronicle of one of numerous encounters with ancient astronauts who arrived, in a spaceship, from another planet.

Similar to the Mecanum wheels, the omni wheels have small discs around the circumference perpendicular to the direction of rotation; the effect is that even if the wheel proceeds with maximum strength and speed, it can also slide sideways with extreme ease.
This was a feature clearly described by Ezekiel in the first chapter of his homonymousbook:
“They could move in any of the four directions they faced, without veering as they moved.” – Ezekiel 1: 17

In addition he created a technology that did not exist so far. His inspiration? The Bible. How can a very ancient book contain descriptions of marvellous and futuristic technologies?
To us, this is not surprising, as we believe that in the ancient past our planet witnessed the arrival of cosmic civilizations from other worlds, (see the article “Ancient Aliens: The Future in Our Past 1 of 4“) and some humans like Ezekiel managed to capture what many had witnessed.
Besides this, it is highly possible that remote antediluvian civilizations developed technologies similar to ours, or even more advanced.
With this in mind, let’s delve into Ezekiel. Blumrich informed us that the prophet witnessed a close encounter of the fourth kind.

The biblical book of Ezekiel does not contain a religious poem or the description of mystical ‘visions’, but rather a detailed account of one or more close encounters with the ancient alien race known as the Elohim, “those who from the heaven to the Earth came”.
1.Ezekiel Vision: Fantasy Or Reality?
Ezekiel, the author of the homonyms Book of the Old Testament, was one of the major prophets of the past. He lived in Jerusalem approximately around 620 BC, spreading the will and the word of Yahweh.(יהוה); his writings and testimony/legacy were initially elaborated by Judaism and were later picked up by Christianity.
Theology interprets the events described in his book, as“divinevisions” or“mystical-hallucinatory experiences”. Let’s see why this is not true.
The following story could be placed between the 7th and 6th centuries BC, five years after the Babylonian captivity. The prophet is on the bank of the Chebar River in present-day Iraq.
Ezekiel relates:
1. “Now it came to pass in the thirtieth year, in the fourth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I was among the captives by the river of Chebar, that the heavens were opened, and I saw visions of God.“
2. “In the fifth day of the month, which was the fifth year of king Jehoiachin’s captivity”
Dreams? Visions?.. Think again.
First, Ezekiel specifies the day, month and year. In verse 2 he also specifies that“it was the fifth year of the exile of King Jehoiachin”.
One would think that he is fully awake, conscious, and in possession of all his mental faculties.
The idea of“vision” typically pertains to perceiving someone or something in a dream, trance, or encountering a supernatural apparition.
However, upon a careful reading of the entire first chapter of Ezekiel, and by translating it literally without the intervention of theological and spiritualist categories, the most immediate impression is that Ezekiel is referring to a concrete, real – not mystical – experience that he personally lived and recounts.
Let’s explore the reasons behind this interpretation.
The Klein Dictionary translates: מַרְאֶה m.n.(pl. מַרֽאִים, also מַרְאוֹת) 1 sight, view, appearance. 2 vision.[From ראה(= to see).]
It appears evident that the meaning of“vision” understood in the supernatural sense is present, but it is not among the firsts meanings.
The first, immediate, meaning of the Hebrew word mar’ōwṯ(מַרְא֥וֹת.) indicates that Ezekiel was simply observing the sky, looking at something and not having a ‘vision’.
Translating“ōlōhimmar’ōwṯ”(מַרְא֥וֹת אֱלֹהִֽים)” with“visions of God” is therefore arbitrary and ambiguous; It is made to convince the reader that Ezekiel’s story is just a dream, something unreal or supernatural, and besides that, it’s also functional to distort the meaning from literal to the allegorical under the groundless assumption that Elohim means God.(Find out why this is not true here: Elohim (אֱלֹהִים) – 3 of 5 : etymology and biblical (alien) plurality)
2.2 The Spaceships of Ezekiel: Ezekiel sees the Elohim
Now, that changes perspective for sure. One has to wonder: what was… Ezekiel looking at?

As explained in the article Elohim(אֱלֹהִים), when the Bibleuses this word, it refers to the ancient astronauts belonging to the ancient alien race of the Elohim.
The literal translation from the original Hebrew text simply notes that Ezekiel saw the Elohim coming down from the sky.
